Our body has four media of waste secretion namely bowels, lungs, kidneys and skin. Kidneys and bowels are the most important media for throwing out toxic and product wastes. When the kidneys are congested with product wastes or when the bowels are exhausted, then the waste expulsion takes place through the lungs and skin. When this happens, it results in acne formation. Though chemical products like proactive acne solutions are available in the market, we will discuss a natural way in which acne can be treated.
Consumption of fiber is one of the natural acne solutions. Following are some of the aspects that should be considered regarding fiber-intake.
Increase in Fiber intake:
You can prevent acne formation by increasing your fiber intake. Fibers will not only absorb the toxic and product wastes but also facilitate rapid expulsion of these wastes through the bowels. Thus, sufficient intake of fibers will assist in speeding up your bowel transit time. Hence, your body will not have to use additional channels, particularly the skin, for secretion and will consequently prevent acne formation. Natural sources of fiber include fruits and non-starchy vegetables. Fruits including oranges, bananas, apples, raspberries, strawberries, and vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, sprouts, and potatoes contains large amount of proteins. However, it is not advisable to have an excessive intake of fiber.
Examining your Bowel transit time:
The quantity of food that you consume should maintain your bowel transit time between 12 to 18 hours. In simple terms, consuming excess amount of fiber will speed up your bowel transit time allowing nutrients to pass through the system without getting absorbed. Specifically speaking, if your transit time is less than 12 hours you may need to put a check to your daily fiber intake.
On the other hand, if the bowel transit time is greater than 24 hours then your body is getting deprived of sufficient fiber. As a result the body will throw out the waste products through your skin which will lead to acne.
Quantity of fiber to be consumed
Quantity of daily fiber intake needed by the body varies from person to person, so it is up to you to do some experimenting and finding out the exact amount. As a reference you can start with a daily fiber intake of 30 grams.
If you are curious about the fiber content in different foods, each of the above-listed fruits contain 3 grams of fiber and each of the vegetables contain 2 grams of fiber. However it is recommended that you consume more vegetables than fruits because fruits contain high amount of natural sugar.
Consuming sufficient fiber is just one of the acne solutions and may not be effective alone. A combination of natural solutions may be required to cure acne totally and naturally.
